Need Microsoft Office? As student you can buy it from Software for Students. Office 2008 fro Mac (full version) is only £35.89 and for PC it’s only £35.94 Now I know we’re all supposed to hate M$ but at those prices how can you. You can also buy other MS applications from there too. Just ordered mine for home, as an OU student I’m eligible.

The Ed Techie: More Twitter types →
More of Martin Weller’s musings of everyones favourite shoutbox Twitter. He makes some interesting observations of it’s use, but (and no disrepect to him) do most of it’s users actually care what Twitter type they are. Incidentally, I actually I would regard myself and usage of it as falling into Martin’s Wide Peer Network definition of twitter usage.

Flock 1.1 - The Social Web Browser
Spent the morning trying patiently to configure Flock 1.1 to organise my connected life. I’m sat away from my main computer as there are simply too many distractions on it, eg games, countless weblinks and other timesinks. So I’m sat on a “lowly” Apple G4 1.5ghz Powerbook. Flock has some grand aspirations to be an uber media centre of the connected world. It will...

O'Reilly Network: What Is Web 2.0 →
Tim O’Reilly’s view of web 2.0 from almost three years ago. Most of it still seems applicable today however, I think the thing that is missing from this is the fact that actually for a large majority of Web2.0 consumers they aren’t actually interested in what goes on under the bonnet, as long as it works.

OU H806 - Reading List
I wondered when my Mini-Library was going to arrive from the OU. I found in the recycle bin when I took out last weeks papers!! I’m sure it’s not an issue but I was quite surprised to find that it was only three books, there must be loads of online content, which would make sense..
